Maxwell Gong

Maxwell Gong, age 14, is a freshman at Oregon Episcopal School. He began playing the violin at age eight and currently studies with Hae-Jin Kim. This year marks his fifth season with the Portland Youth Philharmonic, where he is a member of both the Philharmonic Orchestra and Camerata PYP Orchestra. Maxwell served as the assistant concertmaster for the 2025 OMEA Middle School All-State Orchestra. He also won second place in the Jeannette Scott Briggs

Scholarship Competition for the middle school division in 2025. During the summer of 2025, he attended Interlochen Arts Camp, where he served as the assistant concertmaster.
